Chessbrook is a highly successful Education Support Centre based in Watford, which proudly serves its family of schools within South West Hertfordshire. Chessbrook’s goal is to help support students that may have difficulties staying in mainstream school. Students are offered mentors and support to help make sure they progress in academic subjects or in social and emotional development. They pride themselves on delivering education in a way that removes barriers, supports personal development and re-engages students in their learning.

As a school aiming to achieve an Eco Schools Award, Chessbrook’s eco code outlines an ambition ‘To reduce the amount of CO2 produced by our school mini buses by 50%’. We are extremely proud to be a part of helping them meet their objective using our electric fleet offering.

Chessbrook has recently installed two charge points to help accommodate offsite visits to other schools and businesses where student s may be completing placements or learning a new skill. Installing these shows their real commitment, the staff have even benefitted from the installation as they use them for their own personal vehicles.

John, the centre lead currently leases our BMW i3, he says “We have found the electric BMW to perfectly suit our needs as an Educational Support Centre in Watford. The car meets our sustainability policy of reducing carbon emissions for school travel. It’s also much cheaper to run than the petrol or diesel alternatives. The car is great to drive, silent, comfortable, compact but roomy. We use it for short trips to external educational providers and a single charge can last up to one week! It’s nippy, great in traffic and always easy to park. It’s the perfect pool car. We’re really pleased with our purchase and we’re in discussions for placing an order for another one.”

At Herts FullStop, Fleet Management we are dedicated in helping you find the most suitable vehicle at the best price possible. Choosing an electrical vehicle has many benefits from zero C02 emissions and reduced running costs, access to cutting edge technology and often superior performance, particularly when it comes to acceleration and smoothness of the ride.
