Beck Row Primary School, in Mildenhall, Suffolk saw an advert to win a free entrance mat in a flyer that was received in the post from Herts FullStop. Mrs Ruth King, Deputy Head was reading the brochure when she noticed the competition and thought that this would make a fantastic task for the whole school over the Easter Holidays.
All pupils were given a piece of paper with a rectangular box and were asked to design an entrance mat that would showcase the school and welcome visitors.
Returning from the Easter Break all of the designs were displayed and pupils and staff had the chance to vote on who they thought the winner should be, after careful consideration the winner was Jessica Garrard, aged 10, in year 5, Otter class.
Mrs King sent the design to Herts FullStop to be in with a chance of winning the entrance Mat, the marketing department then had the very difficult job of choosing from all of the designs that were entered, Jessica’s stood out as outstanding ! and was chosen as the winner
The entrance mat was presented by Emma King from Herts FullStop in the End of year Beck Row talent contest on Tuesday 20th July, Jessica was up on stage and revealed her drawing to the whole school with a very proud Dad standing on the side.
We hope that Jessica and the rest of the school are very proud of her achievement and the Mat is in pride of place for every visitor to see as soon as they enter the school.
